Scheduling & Session Details

I'd love to have an idea of (natural) lighting in your home. When you get a chance, please take a few photos around the house (don't worry about tidying up) and send them to melissa(at)icarianphotography.com

Ideally, you'd turn off all artificial light and open up curtains/blinds beforehand :)

Typically, what is your child(ren)'s mood like at this time of day?

If no older children involved, what is the general mood of the family/household at this time of day (ex: laid-back, frenetic, etc.)

If before or during wake up time, would you like the wake up routine documented?

Are there specific locations in your home that are particularly meaningful/ important for you to document at this time in your lives?

If you feel lighting will be an issue, please let me know. I may ask you to send me a quick photo of the space.

Would you like time blocked out for more traditional *newborn* portraits?

If baby has some (very pre) pre-teen acne, how would you like Melissa to process it?

If very prominent, and you would like it processed, please allow up to an additional week of processing time.

Please note: Ideally, we will be dividing activities into roughly 10-15 minute blocks. These can be as simple as "story time" or "jumping on the bed" and as elaborate as "making 5 inch round corn meal pancakes with my grandmother's 50-year-old cast iron skillet at precisely 10am on Saturday mornings." ;)

Details & Attire

Are there any specific human and/or object details that you would like to capture at this time in your lives?

Please look at this as HOMEWORK prior to our session. Think over these details and let me know the day of our session. Details are non-portrait images of really anything that evokes an emotion, memory, or sense of this time in your family's life. Human details may include hands, ears (for instance, if baby happens to have grandmother's ears), mouth, etc. Object details may include a special necklace, handmade blanket for baby, special toy, etc.

What colors are predominant in your wardrobe and/or walls of your home?
